The Handmaid's Tale

The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood Did I miss something? It seems that many reviewers read a completely different book than I did. The writing was atrocious. It rambled endlessly (and aimlessly), making it painful to continue. I kept hoping for something, ANYTHING, but I was sorely disappointed.

That said, I understand why Atwood wrote as she did and I understand the point she tried to make. However, neither made me enjoy the book any more. I've even read over other reviews thinking I missed something, but nope, apparently what I read is all there is.

I'm disappointed. Especially since I was expecting an awe inspiring, forward thinking, amazing book after reading the reviews. Alas, I received none of those things.
